David Klassen received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from The Catholic University of America in
Washington, D.C. in 2007.  He has been teaching philosophy at Corpus Christi College since
2008.  Prior to returning to academia to study philosophy, he was a member of the Law Society
of British Columbia and practiced law in Vancouver for fifteen years.  David’s research deals
with questions of natural law and natural rights, the question of how objective values and ethical
principles are known to us, and the place of religious belief in the public sphere.  He has taught a
wide range of courses in philosophy at CCC, including Philosophy of the Human Person,
Philosophy of Religion, Post-Aristotelian and Early Medieval Philosophy, Later Medieval and
Renaissance Philosophy, Introduction to Philosophy and Introduction to Ethics.
